Information Technology (in English)

Information Technology is everywhere in today’s society as it is needed in electronic appliances, computers, household devices, and almost in every part of your everyday life.

The aim of Degree Programme in Information Technology is to provide high quality and up to date education and skills both in core engineering subjects and in chosen specialization option and in individual study paths.

The degree provides a solid basis to work as an engineer anywhere in the world and have an international career in various areas of information and communications technologies.
The four-year degree programme educates engineers, who have the knowledge and skills required for a career within the fields of networks, software engineering.

Curriculum of Information Technology Degree programme provides basic knowledge and skills in the structure and operations of software, devices and systems in the field of ICT. Additionally communication skills, team-working abilities and creative problem solving and innovation skills, combined with a solid technical background are the key elements of the curriculum.

A Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology works in various tasks in private sector companies, in the public sector and in project management in Finland and abroad. An engineer works for example in software production, in product development of electronic devices or in marketing, selling, customer service and business-to-business services.

Internet Technologies

The knowledge for different network engineering positions in IoT and Cloud Computing is provided in this study path. The education includes many hands on sessions at Metropolia laboratories. The equipment and methods used in Metropolia network laboratories presents the latest technologies.
