The ones eligible for admission include: Bachelors of Culture and Arts in Fashion and Clothing (University of Applied Sciences); Bachelors of Engineering in Textile and Clothing (UAS); Bachelors of Arts (Craft Science and Textiles), Bachelors of Arts (Art and Design), Bachelors of Culture and Arts in Crafts and Design (UAS) and in Design (UAS), and the ones with an appropriate foreign higher education degree equivalent to the above mentioned Finnish higher education degrees in terms of level, extent and content (assessed by the degree programme).
In order to be eligible, applicants must have three years of work experience in the field of fashion and clothing, accumulated as from the date of award of the final degree certificate and obtained no later than 31 July 2017 for the spring application period. Universities of applied sciences also accept work experience obtained after completion of a postsecondary or higher vocational level diploma in Finland (in any field of education) but prior to taking the higher education degree. In such cases, too, at least three years of work experience obtained in a relevant field is required.
No discretionary admission.

The Master’s degree in fashion and clothing educates experts and superiors, who act in the field of fashion and clothing and who have the competence to manage and administer the brands in the field as well as the interrelated product and quality management processes, working life projects and development projects.

A Master of Culture and Arts in Fashion and Clothing acts as an expert in the areas of product management and quality management as a part of an international multifaceted team. He organizes, evaluates and manages the processes of product control and analytically develops them.
Master of Culture and Arts in Fashion and Clothing is eligible for post-graduate studies at the University.
The assessment criteria is defined in the degree regulations of Metropolia and course-specific requirements are described in the curriculum.
A student is eligible to graduate when he/she has completed all the required courses set for the degree as a present student (60 ECTS credits).
The Master’s programme consists of modules, courses and a Master’s thesis. Multiform studies include e.g.contact teaching and self-study with Finnish as the language of instruction. The programme has been designed to enable working alongside studies.
Master's Degree (Second Cycle)
Studying a Master’s Degree (UAS) takes place in close interaction with the labour market. Students represent different organizations and they have at least three years of previous work experience. Their Master’s Thesis is a development task looking for solutions to professional challenges at the student’s own workplace or a partner organization. A professional training period is not included in the degree.
