Courses for exchange students, Degree Programme in Music/Autumn 2019

KXF19S-EXCHANGE

Description

The Degree Programme in Music welcomes exchange students both for the autumn and spring semester and for a full academic year. The degree programme offers studies in both Pop and Jazz and Classical Music.

The language of instruction is Finnish in principle, but it is possible to receive advice and guidance in English in certain courses. For instrument studies the knowledge of Finnish is not generally required. Exchange students can easily join band workshops, ensembles, orchestra and chamber music. Certain music theory courses etc. can be given in English. Students and teachers may mutually agree on the language they will use in one-to-one lessons, i.e. instrument lessons.

Here incoming exchange students can find courses offered in English by the Degree Programme in Music.

Students can choose courses from only 1 major subject. The student should have a matching study background for the major subject courses. In addition, students can choose from the lists “courses, which are open for all incoming exchange students to Music” and “courses, which are open for all exchange students in Metropolia”. All students are recommended to choose Finnish for exchange students (3cts) and Finnish culture in a professional context (2ects).
