In future, the Finnish health care will focus increasingly on disease prevention, health promotion and client-centred health care services. Therefore, the infrastructure of health care services will become decentralized. For instance, the client himself may take care of nursing procedures at home, and the reading will be automatically transferred to cloud services to be analysed by health care professionals. Thus, we need new client-friendly health technology products and services.
The Health Technology Module (15 ECTS) consists of two parts: Health Technology Trends, Devices and Solutions (15 ECTS) and Health Technology Project (10 ETCS).
In the Health Technology Trends, Devices and Solutions course (5 ECTS), the students will familiarize themselves with the concept of health technology, current health technology trends and innovations and robotics in health care and social services.
In the Health Technology Project course (10 ECTS), the students either plan a new innovation or evaluate the usability and functionality of an already existing device such as a sphygmomanometer (i.e. a blood pressure meter) and a blood sugar meter.
On completing the module, the student is able to follow various health technology trends, take part in the planning process of new health technology products and services and evaluate the usability of them. Moreover, the student is able to work in and co-operate with a multi-professional team in the field of health technology.
Select according to specific criteria: 0 - 0 cr
If the student chooses the module, he must do both courses.
