Orientation and two lectures (An example of work as clinical laboratory expert and how evidence-based knowledge come up at this work; How to write a article)
Self-directed work: The student chooses an expert area (clinical physiology, haematology, immunology, point-of-care testing etc.) and read up on scientific articles of chosen expert area. The student writes a learning diary
Task 1: Instruction for learning diary
Reflect what kind of competencies you have in the chosen expert area? How you have built your expertise (education, work, research, conferences etc.)? What is your competence? What kind of aims do you have to develop your expertise? How you can achieve your aims? What have you learned during this course? What did you learn? What kind of development challenges do you have? What kind of expert tasks could you have in future?
Task 2: Instruction for literature review (Mika write this)
Write a literature review from your laboratory field and the specific subject you have chosen. Search scientific articles from different papers (from three to 4) and select the years you want to take in the review. For example you can choose articles (research or review) between 2010 to 2016 from three papers and do the review with these criteria.
Present what you have learned in writing process. Presentations are performed in small groups.
